This one long extended take video was made during Nature Theater of Oklahoma's residence in Berlin at the HAU1 Hebbel am Ufer in June/July 2013, at the joint invitation of the HAU Hebbel am Ufer and Berliner Festspiele/Foreign Affairs. The performers featured are all local Berliners who joined the Nature Theater of Oklahoma during this residence to help us work on Life and Times, and also make two new video projects, the Berlin Screen Tests vimeopro.com/oktheater/berlin-screen-tests and the animated project Empire okvideo.org/video/75550776
This "test" was one of many experiments made in preparation for shooting Life and Times - Episode 7, which will be a feature film. During this particular test we were interested in exploring the possibilities of color, outdoor, natural light, music, and long unedited choreographed sequences of movement with the camera. This was also the first time we tried shooting with a Steadicam.
Filmed in the back yard loading dock area of the HAU1 Theater. Music by Robert M. Johanson. Gabel Eiben: steadicam operator, Asli Bulbul and Dany Naierman choreographed the take with director Pavol Liska.
